SAMSUNG

Galaxy S23 Ultra vs. Google Pixel 7 Pro : The S23 Ultra, which Samsung has unveiled as part of its flagship Galaxy S23 series, is at the top of the list. It has cutting-edge gear, including a 200MP camera, a Snapdragon X70 5G modem, and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy processor. However, is that sufficient to compete with Google’s premium Pixel 7 Pro?

We are currently evaluating the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Therefore, we’re comparing the specs of the phones until we can provide you buying advise based on our assessment.

Which Phone Has a Better Design, the Pixel 7 Pro or Galaxy S23 Ultra?

The Galaxy S23 Ultra vs. Google Pixel 7 Pro both have screens that are around the same size at 6.7 and 6.8 inches. However, the Pixel 7 Pro weights a little bit less (7.5 ounces vs. 8.25 ounces).

Both phones include metal frames and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus panels, but the S23 Ultra has the more recent Victus 2 material, which Corning claims is significantly more durable. The S23 Ultra’s higher weight may be explained by the S23’s use of a different material. Both the Pixel 7 Pro and S23 Ultra have an IP68 classification, which indicates that they are completely waterproof and dustproof.

Does the Pixel 7 Pro or Galaxy S23 Ultra Have a Better Screen?

Both phones have OLED screens that are exceptionally clear and brilliant, and there are barely any variations between them in terms of brightness and resolution.

The S23 Ultra has a higher resolution (3,088 by 1,440 pixels) than the Pixel 7 Pro (3,120 by 1,440 pixels), however the difference is only about 50 lines, or about 1.5% of the screen height. The Pixel and the S23 Ultra have nearly identical pixel densities of 512 ppi and 500 ppi, respectively. Given that all models feature the same fluid 120Hz refresh rate, you probably won’t notice a significant variation in screen sharpness in day-to-day use.

Samsung claims that the Dynamic AMOLED screen on the S23 Ultra has a maximum brightness of 1,750 nits, whereas Google ranks the OLED screen on the Pixel 7 Pro at 1,500 nits. Again, the difference is insignificant because perceived brightness begins to scale dramatically as luminance increases, especially over 1,000 nits.

Galaxy S23 Ultra vs. Pixel 7 Pro: Which Phone Is Faster?

The Pixel 7 Pro and its Tensor G2 CPU performed noticeably worse in previous benchmarks than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in the Galaxy S22+, but we won’t know for sure until we try the S23 Ultra. We don’t expect the Pixel will prevail in this contest because the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU is even speedier.

In our cell signal testing, the Pixel 7 Pro didn’t fare much better than the S22+. We anticipate Samsung will triumph in this category as well because it equipped its new flagship with an even stronger modem.
